Part 23 - Operating System Deployment - Task Sequence with SCCM 2012 R2

We successfully captured a Windows 7 operating system in previous post. Now we will be deploy the captured image to a blank PC.

Go to Software Library > Overview > Operating Systems > Task Sequences
Right click on Task Sequences and select Create Task Sequence

Choose Install an existing image package and click Next.

Give the TS a name and choose a boot image. Next.

Select Partition and format the target computer before installing the operating system
Specify a password for the local administrator. Next.

Specify the OU location for the computer and provide a account with enough right to add computer to the domain. Next.

Choose Configuration Manager Client Package. Next.




Review your settings and press Next.

Task Sequence Wizard. Done

Right click on the TS and select Edit to configure some options.

Browse to Partition Disk 0 task
Double click on each volume to make the required changes.





Deploy Task Sequence to Unknown Computers

Browser to All Unknown Computers  - Next

Make Avaible and make avaible to the following: Only media and PXE - Next.







DHCP Scope Options

Options 66 and 67 are configured so that a PXE client can locate the PXE point and boot into Windows PE using our boot images

These options can be configued at the server or individual scope level

Option 66 is the PXE server name (local PXE enabled DP) or IP address
Option 67 is the file name required and is always: SMSBoot\x64\wdsnbp.com
