Part 05 - Installing the Active Directory Domain Services

Server Manager select > Manage > Add Roles and Features

Select "Active Directory Domain Service". Next

Next.

Next.

Select "Restart the destination server automatically if required". Yes. Next

Close.

Select "AD DS" in the left panel. Press "More..."

Press on "Promote this server to a domain..."

Select "Add a new forest". Type in your root domain name. Here we typed in: trainingLAB.local and Next.

Type in a DSRM password. Next

Press "Change". Type in your administrator credential. OK. Next.

Next.

Next.

Review your selections in the scroll area. Next.

Wait for the process to finish.

Server Manager > Tools > DHCP > Right click on IPv4 and select "New Scope". Next.

Type in a name for the scope and a description. Next

Here we enter the range for over scope. 10.0.0.100 - 10.0.0.200

Next.

Next.

Select "No. I will configure these options later". Next.

Press "Finish" to activate the scioe.

Select "Tools" from Server Manager. Choose "DNS". Right click on "Forward Lookup Zones". Select "New Zones...". Next,

Select "Primary zone". Next.

Type in the zone name. "trainingLAB.local". Next.

Next.

Select "Allow both nonsecure and secure dynamic updates". Next.

Finish to create the new zone.

Now create a new zone in the reverse lookup zones. Next.

Select "Primary zone". Next.

Select "IPv4 Reverse Lookup Zone". Next.

Type in "10" in Network ID. Next

Next.

Select "Allow both nonsecure and secure dynamic updates". Next.

Finish to create the reverse lookup zone.

Back to Server Manager on the DHCP. Click on "More..."

Click on "Complete DHCP configuration".

Next.

Next.

Close.

The scope is now activated and ready.
