We will create a task sequence media for capturing our references image.
Go to Software Library > Overview > Operating Systems > Task Sequences
Right click on Task Sequences and select Create Task Sequence Media.
Select Capture Media and click Next.
I have created a folder called source with following sub folders
- Backup
- boot_image
- capture
- drivers
- images
- software
Browser to a location where you want to save the capture file and give a file name.
Media file: \\sccm\source$\Capture_W7x64.iso. Next.
Choose the boot image and the distribution point. Next.
Review your settings here and click Next.
Burn the ISO file to a CD
Insert the CD in the drive on the reference windows. Following Wizard will show up. Click Next.
Browser to the destination of the image file and add a file name.
Enter credentials who have rights to write to the location. Next.
Fill out some image description. Next.
Review your settings and click Finish to start the capture process.
The capture process start out with a sysprep of the computer.
Wizard has completed and a wim file is now available. OKb
Importing Image into SCCM
Browser to Software Library > Overview > Operating Systems > Operating System Images
Right click and select Add Operating System Image.
Enter the location of the wim file or browser to it. Next.
File out some information about the wim file. Next.
Review your settings and click Next.
The wim file got imported successfully. Close
Now distribute the image out to Distribution Point.
Right click on the imported image and select Distribute Content
Click Next.
Add DP, Next
Review settings and click Next.
Distribution Done
