Part 04 - Prepare for Active Directory Domain Services

Press "Power on this virtual mashine" to starup the new cloned vm.

Select your Country/Region and App Language, Keyboard Layout.

Type in a password for the built-in administrator account.

We will change the network adaptor setting from NAT to a isolated LAN.

Press "Add" type in your LAN segments name. Here we called it "trainingLAB Network"

Choose the new created lan segment.

Back to the VM. Click on the Computer name.

Press "Change..."

Type in the hostname of the server. DC01.
Press "More..."

Type in "trainingLAB.local". OK

Press. OK

Restart Later

We need to give our sever a static IP address. Click on "IPv4 address signed by DHCP. IPv6 enabled"

Rename the network interface to "LAN". Right click and choose properties. 
Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
Choose "Use the following IP address:"
IP address: 10.0.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0

Choose "Use the following DNS server addresses:"
Preferred DNS server: 10.0.0.10

Back to "Server Manager". Click on "Dashboard"
Click on "Add roles and features"

Select "DHCP Server" > "Add Features"

Select "DNS Server" > "Add Features"

Select "Remote Access" > Next

Select "Routing" > "Add Features"

Install

Close

Next step is installing the Active Directory Domain Services
